Dear Parishioners,
On this May long weekend, the parish is launching the Garden of Hope Campaign. The campaign’s main purpose is to share the hope we have in Christ, that he is with us during this time, and that he cares about us. Similarly, the parish of Annunciation of the Lord is a place of hope, a place of community, and we care about our community.
The campaign has two elements. First, Fr Rob and Fr John would like to invite parishioners and our Beacon Hill neighbours to stop by and plant a flower and say a prayer in the flower beds in the front of the parish. People can plant a flower in memory of someone they love, someone they have lost or simply to show community spirit. These flowers will be a reminder of the hope we carry in our hearts and add beauty for all our neighbours to enjoy.
The second element is a lawn sign campaign. The parish has printed lawn signs with 3 different messages: There is Hope; There is Love; You are not Alone. In addition to placing these signs on the parish lawn, you are invited to take a sign from the parish lawn and place it on your lawn to share the message of hope, love and community with your neighbours. Quantities are limited. Each lawn sign will have a QR code so people passing by can check out the parish website, where they will find this video message from Fr Rob.
Spring is a time of hope and as every gardener knows, planting a garden is a visible act of hope. Planting a lawn sign reinforces the message of hope in the broader community.
Live Hope, Live Love, Plant a Flower!
