One of the things we like to do with Companion of the Cross first-year seminarians is to take them to our novitiate at “The Farm” and remind them just how BIG God is! Whether the vastness of the cosmos or the minute detail of the molecular structure, the Grace of God is vast, detailed, and omnipresent.
This is a timely reminder that the good God we serve is much greater than any virus, social upheaval or economic downturn.
Fr. John and I are saying mass for you every day, and all the graces that you could receive from going to communion, you can still receive through spiritual communion. Here is a Spiritual Communion prayer I encourage you to say anytime.
Spiritual Communion Prayer:
My Jesus,
I believe that you are truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to possess You within my soul. Since I am unable at this moment
to receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as being already there, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen
