“Do this in remembrance of me.”
Over the last while, the Pastoral Council has been taking one Sunday per month to briefly highlight the contributions of our parishioners to parish life through our ministries. This month, we are focusing on Liturgy. What parishioners see every week when they walk into the church, the active involvement of lay members in celebrations of the liturgy, the decorations, the coordination of activities and accommodations necessary for different parts of the liturgical calendar; these are the result of many hours of work behind the scenes by parishioners. Much of it is coordinated through the Liturgy Committee. The choirs and altar servers are important and visible contributors to the liturgy. Flowers, decorations, and clean linen are here every week. Parishioners are greeted when they enter the church. Ushers and readers assist at the mass as do extraordinary ministers of communion. Annunciation also has a children’s liturgy. We are richly blessed with the wonderful contributions of many parishioners to the liturgical life of Annunciation of the Lord.
