Stations of the Cross

Join us as we pray the Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings during Lent at 7:00 p.m. Please note the Station of the Cross will not be held on March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation and on April 8 as the parish will offer a “Holy Week Adventure for Families” that evening.

Cross Canada Pilgrimage

This Lent, we call our parishioners to pray together for our parish, our friends, our neighbours, our community, our country.

So, to break this all down, in order to walk across Canada during Lent, on average we need to cover 1,800 km per week.  This past week  parishioners have walked 430 km.  It is a great start.  Don’t forget to record your mileage with the parish – here’s how:

We will be keeping track of mileage each week from Wednesday to Wednesday:

FORMED.org

Looking for some quality religious programs to watch as a family or for the children over Lent?  Perhaps you are planning to attend the Penitential Service on April 9.  The series “Forgiven” can help you prepare.  There is a list of recommendations on our website, so check it out.

There is no cost to join (the parish has a subscription).  Simply register by going to Formed.org.  Click the “Sign Up” button.  Click, “sign up as a parishioner”, enter “Annunciation of the Lord” (there are a few parishes with the same name so you will need to scroll down and select our parish), enter a few details and you are ready to go.

Save the Date

Our parish feast day is fast approaching! On March 25 we celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord. We will celebrate Mass at 9:00 am and 7:00 pm. Following the 7:00 pm Mass we will be hosting a celebratory social!

As this is a feast day for us, it is a day of celebration and we are released from our Lenten observances.

On April 8 Holy Week Adventure for Families.  General information is on the website.  Keep an eye out for information on how to register in next week’s News and Notes.

Synod on Synodality @ Annunciation of the Lord Parish

We are excited to announce that the Synod process is up and running and we are ready to welcome you to one of our small group sessions! This process is a wonderful opportunity to share your personal experiences with our parish and the global Church and discern where the Holy Spirit is guiding our parish moving forward. As we emerge from the pandemic, we as a parish are eager to listen to what the Holy Spirit says about how we can best serve our community. To do that – we need your help! Below, you will find the dates for our small group sessions. Out of respect for everyone’s preferences, both virtual and in person events will be taking place. Please carefully follow the links to Eventbrite to sign up. There are separate links to the virtual and in person events. Spaces are limited to make sure everyone has the opportunity to share, so secure your spot as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you soon and embarking on this beautiful journey of discovery and growth!
