DIVE A LITTLE DEEPER – LENT 2023
Did you know we have parish worship playlists? Check out our Lenten playlists for your next prayer time!

Come encounter Jesus in the Eucharist
Join us tomorrow, March 2, from 7-9pm for a night of prayer and Eucharistic Adoration! We will hear a talk from parishioner and CCO missionary Jeff Lavery, and a testimony from our very own Rebecca Pereira! You can pray through song with beautiful Praise & Worship, receive the sacrament of confession, or visit a prayer team station to be prayed with. Afterwards, enjoy fellowship and snacks in the hall!
This event is open for any age and is a great opportunity to come closer to God this Lent. Take a midweek break and bring all that’s on your heart to the foot of the cross.
Speaker: Jeff Lavery

Testimony: Rebecca Pereira

SENIOR’S MASS & LUNCHEON – MARCH
All seniors are invited to join us monthly for Mass, fellowship, and good food. There is no cost to attend, so invite a friend! Our March speaker is Richard O’Reilly. Registration closes March 8 so we can calculate numbers for the meal.
Who can you offer up your Lent for?
This Lent, we want to try something new as a parish. We invite you to choose someone to offer up your Lenten sacrifices for. Lent is long; it’s easy to give up halfway through! Having a focus can help us persevere. And when we offer up our sacrifices for someone, avoiding chocolate or saying that extra morning prayer doesn’t seem as daunting.
Who could you offer up your Lent for? Take a few moments today and ask the Holy Spirit to bring a name to your heart. It could be a family member, a friend, or even a stranger you met. As a commitment to prayer, you can visit the Annunciation church entrance to write that person’s name on one of the provided cards and put it into a box. The names in the box will be anonymous, and won’t be opened or read. Instead, we will bring the box to the front before each weekend mass and give it as an offering to God (and a reminder to pray for our person).
God wants to do great things in your heart and in the hearts of others. Who can you offer up your Lent for?

The 2023 Holy Week Adventure is open for registration! On March 31, step back in time and follow Jesus’ footsteps through the week leading up to his death and resurrection. Along the path, you’ll encounter people who’ve met Jesus and become part of an incredible Holy Week experience!
This family event (ideal for ages 4-10) is designed to help you re-experience the Easter story in a tangible and interactive way. Your tour experience will take about an hour in length, with tours beginning every 15 minutes starting at 6pm. The cost is $5/person, or $20/family (2 and under are free). Tickets are limited; click here to get yours today!

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE (CWL)
The next General Meeting of the Catholic Women’s League will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 7:00 pm. At this meeting, we will conduct the voting on the Notices of Motion before us. We will also have a guest speaker. We have invited Teanna Bertin-McLeod, Indigenous Provincial Anti-Human Trafficking Liaison to come and speak to us about her work at Minwaashin Lodge ministering to vulnerable women on the streets. We look forward to seeing you. A link will be provided for those of you who prefer to attend online.
Special Invitation:
We have a special invitation to the women of the parish who are not CWL members. We invite you to join us at 8:00 pm in the parish hall for light refreshments and to listen to our speaker. Minwaashin Lodge is an Indigenous Women’s Support Centre and has an outreach in Vanier. At Christmas, our council collected personal care and hygiene products for their outreach program. Come and hear about Teanna’s work and the fruit that it bears.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – PARISH BREAKFAST
On March 26th, we will celebrate our parish feast day with a special breakfast! If you are interested in helping serve for this event, please contact Fr Joshua at frjoshua@annunciation-ottawa.com.
