DIVE A LITTLE DEEPER – LENT 2023

Click the Lent 2023 for more resources

As we near the middle of Lent, our Lenten sacrifices can begin to feel heavy. Do I really need to keep praying daily? Can’t I cheat and have a bit of chocolate, or watch tv even though I gave it up?

Don’t give up! We’re weak on our own, but we can do it with God’s grace.

If your heart is growing tired, come strengthen it by walking with Jesus through the Stations of the Cross. Our parish prays through the Stations each Lenten Friday at 7pm This is a beautiful way to deepen your Lenten journey, and also refresh your heart.

If Jesus can fall and get back up, by the grace of God, so can we! If you picked someone to offer up your Lent for, keep their name in mind this week; it might help refocus you. Write their name on a note and place it somewhere where you’ll see it: on your phone, the fridge, or in your car. Remember: it’s all offered up for them! The hard days mean we have an even more beautiful prayer to offer up.

This family event (ideal for ages 4-10) is designed to help you re-experience the Easter story in a tangible and interactive way. Your tour experience will take about an hour in length, with tours beginning every 15 minutes starting at 6pm. The cost is $5/person, or $20/family (2 and under are free). Tickets are limited and over half are already sold; click here to get yours today!

Following the 9am and the 11am masses on March 26, Annunciation is hosting a parish breakfast to celebrate the Feast of the Annunciation. Come enjoy a (free) warm breakfast and take a moment to celebrate with our parish family!

Our parish is big, which means it’s a big party! Can you cook, help serve the food, or help clean up? To join the breakfast volunteer team, sign up at the Info Desk or click here. We’d love your help!

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE (CWL)

The next General Meeting of the Catholic Women’s League will be Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 7:00 pm. At this meeting, we will conduct the voting on the Notices of Motion before us. We will also have a guest speaker. We have invited Teanna Bertin-McLeod, Indigenous Provincial Anti-Human Trafficking Liaison to come and speak to us about her work at Minwaashin Lodge ministering to vulnerable women on the streets. We look forward to seeing you. A link will be provided for those of you who prefer to attend online.

Special Invitation:

We have a special invitation to the women of the parish who are not CWL members. We invite you to join us at 8:00 pm in the parish hall for light refreshments and to listen to our speaker. Minwaashin Lodge is an Indigenous Women’s Support Centre and has an outreach in Vanier. At Christmas, our council collected personal care and hygiene products for their outreach program. Come and hear about Teanna’s work and the fruit that it bears.
