Come encounter Jesus in the Eucharist

Join us on June 1 at 7pm for our next Behold! Behold is a night of prayer and Eucharistic Adoration with Praise & Worship, followed by a time of fellowship in the hall. There will be a talk at the beginning of the evening, and the Sacrament of Confession available throughout Adoration.

Behold is a beautiful and engaging way to sit with God in prayer. With no commitment or registration required, it’s also an easy event to invite someone to! You don’t need to understand theology or lead small group discussions. Simply come as you are and encounter God’s personal love for you.

Our June speaker is Stephanie Dresch, with a testimony from Stan McLaurin.

SPIRITUAL BOUQUET FOR FR. JOSHUA

At the end of June, Fr. Joshua is moving to his new parish in Toronto. We have been so blessed by his service and faithfulness this past year! Though we’re sad to see him go, we know the Lord is calling him to great things.

As a parting gift from Annunciation, we are collection affirmations, messages, and prayers from parishioners to form a spiritual bouquet for Fr. Joshua. All entries submitted using the online form will be collected and given to him before his departure.

Click here to add a message to the spiritual bouquet!

FEAST OF CORPUS CHRISTI

On Sunday, June 11, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi. The feast day celebrates the True Presence of the Eucharist—which is the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus. One major tradition for this feast is to process with the Eucharist. Following the 11am Sunday Mass on June 11, we will process outside with the Eucharist as a visible sign to our community, in the same way that our parking lot Masses were!

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith. When the priest prays the words of consecration during Mass, the bread and wine are transformed miraculously into Jesus’ body and blood. It’s not a symbol or metaphor. It is truly Jesus, present with us. But this is a teaching that many wrestle with. How can something be Jesus’ body and blood when it seems unchanged? When Jesus first tells the disciples about the Eucharist, scripture records them as saying, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?” (John 6:60).

The feast of Corpus Christi gives us an opportunity to wrestle with this teaching once more and ask ourselves, “Do I truly believe? ” If you have doubts or questions, know you are in good company with the disciples themselves! Check out this video from Fr. Mike Schmit to dive deeper into those questions and understand why we believe in the True Presence: “The Disciples Doubted the Eucharist. Do You?”

PARISH PICNIC – DESSERT AND SALADS NEEDED

Deacon Kevin Darwent CC will be ordained to the priesthood on Saturday, June 17, 2023. He is one of our own—a parishioner of Annunciation! On Sunday, June 18th, the newly ordained Fr. Kevin will celebrate his first Mass at 11am at our parish, followed by a picnic to celebrate the occasion.

The Knights of Columbus will be barbequing hot dogs and hamburgers, the CWL will be setting up and coordinating the service, and we are asking parishioners to provide desserts and salads for this event.

Want to contribute a dessert or salad? You can sign up at the Info Desk anytime during the next two weeks!
