COMPANIONS COMMUNITY DAYS
Community Days for the Companions of the Cross is this week! We pray for Fr. Rob, Fr. John, Fr. Kevin, and the rest of their community as they gather together. May the Holy Spirit bless them with joy, wisdom, and peace.
As our priests will be gone, we will have Communion Services instead of daily Mass on August 30, 31, and Sept 1.
SENIORS MASS & LUNCHEON
Seniors Mass & Luncheon is back! On September 20, all seniors are invited to join us for 12pm Mass, followed by fellowship and good food. There is no cost to attend, so invite a friend! Our September speaker is Marg Shea Lawrence.
Registration closes at 12am on September 14 in order to give enough time to calculate meal numbers. Click here to register.

CGS – REGISTRATION NOW OPEN!
From September to June, our parish offers the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) to children aged 3 – 12 years old. CGS is a religious education program rooted in Sacred Scripture, Liturgy, and respect for the child’s rich relationship with God that uses the Montessori approach towards children, with materials.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE
‘The Catholic Women’s League calls its members to grow in faith, and to witness to the love of God through ministry and service.’
Annunciation’s CWL are ‘Sisters in the League’. Under the patronage of Our Lady of Good Counsel, we have regular monthly meetings where we pray together, plan our activities, hear what is happening across the country, and socialize with our sisters.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES
PILGRIMAGE – FEAST OF THE EXALTATION OF THE HOLY CROSS
Celebrate the feast day of the Companions, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, with a 9a.m. Mass on Sept 14 at St. Patrick’s in Fallowfield, followed by a pilgrimage to St. Mary’s Parish.
Pilgrims will join Fr. Mark Goring and others from the Companions of the Cross and the Queenship of Mary Community on the 24 km walk, which will take approximately 7 hours. It will conclude with a potluck reception at St. Mary’s Parish.

LIFE CHAIN 2023
This year’s Life Chain is October 1, 2023 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM. Life Chain is an opportunity to witness quietly to the truth of the sanctity of life. Participants will gather at the SE corner of Montreal Rd. & St Laurent Blvd and signs will be available to hold. Participants will then be invited to spread out on all 4 corners and pray in silence for an end to abortion.
ENCOUNTER SCHOOL OF MINISTRY
Drawing from the richness of our Catholic heritage, Encounter School of Ministry seeks to teach, equip and activate disciples to demonstrate the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit in their sphere of influence.
Encounter School of Ministry is a 2 year program held on Tuesday evenings from September to May, at St. Mary’s Parish, 100 Young St, 6:30pm-9:30pm.
Participants have found the program to be transformative, empowering them to more fully embrace their baptismal identity as beloved sons and daughters of God and as disciples of Jesus. Throughout the course, participants learn how to activate spiritual gifts given to them by the Holy Spirit, how to hear the voice of God for themselves and others, how to pray for healing, how to share the gospel with others, and much more.
If you would like to learn more, feel free to attend the Orientation evening (Tuesday Sept 5, 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm) and the first three (free) classes (Tuesdays Sept 12, 19 and 26, 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm) at St. Mary’s . CONFERENCE – SPIRITUAL MOTHERHOOD OF PRIESTS
The Spiritual Motherhood of Priests (Ottawa) is hosting a conference with Professor Daniel O’Connor on “Seeing the Significance of Our Lady’s Warnings on Our Lives Today.”
The conference will take place on Saturday, September 30th, from 8am – 6pm at Holy Redeemer Church, Kanata. All are welcome!
