INDIGENOUS RECONCILIATION FUND – SPECIAL COLLECTION

The collection for the Archdiocesan Indigenous Reconciliation Fund is this weekend! Bring your specially marked envelopes to leave in the basket, or grab one of the booklets and use the QR code to donate online. This collection is part of the Archdiocese’s continuing journey of seeking reconciliation with Canada’s Indigenous Peoples. Last year, our people and parishes were incredibly generous, helping to raise more than $650,000! Thanks to your donations, the Indigenous Reconciliation Fund has been able to provide grants to five exciting projects in the Archdiocese, including:

  • A Children and Youth Pow Wow (Odawa Native Friendship Centre).
  • Six retreats to promote healing and reconciliation (Kateri Native Ministry).
  • A 12-month program to promote cultural healing and wellness for Indigenous women (Minwaashin Lodge).
  • An equine assisted learning program for Indigenous children and their families (Madahoki Farm).
  • A program using music to teach the Mohawk language through hymns and songs to Akwesasronon youth and adults. (St. Regis Mission)

On September 30, we celebrated the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. This weekend, we have a chance to actually live it out and put our words and prayers into action. We can support local initiatives that are actively working to assist Indigenous communities in their process of growth and healing.

HALLOWEEN OUTREACH – THANK YOU!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Halloween Outreach! On October 31, we set up tables on the front lawn and handed out popcorn, hot chocolate, and 400 bags over the course of the night, which is almost double the amount from last year. It was a beautiful opportunity to connect with our local community.

SENIORS MASS & LUNCHEON

All seniors are invited to join us monthly for Mass, fellowship, and good food. There is no cost to attend (though a free-will offering is appreciated), so invite a friend! Our November speakers are Tom Kelly and his associate Bonnie Schroeder.

Date/Time: Nov 15, 12pm

Registration closes at 12am on Nov 9 in order to give enough time to calculate meal numbers.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MEMORIAL ROSARY

A Memorial Rosary will be held at 7:00pm on November 15 for all deceased members of our parish Knights of Columbus. This is an opportunity for parishioners to honour our Blessed Mother Mary and pray for those who have passed.

Following the rosary, a small reception will be held in the Church Hall, allowing time for those in attendance to share memories.

The next General Meeting of the Catholic Women’s League will be in person on Wednesday, November 8th at 7:00 pm. This will be our annual Memorial Service for all our deceased members, followed by refreshments and a short meeting. We look forward to seeing you.
