PARISH NEWS

Wondering what to do for Lent this year? We’ve got some great ideas to help you rebuild and renew your faith. This Lent, we are launching a 6-week small group book and video study to help you rebuild and renew your faith. Let’s do Lent together!

Tuesday, January 30,  7:00pm – 8:00 pm | Refreshments to follow.

Did you miss our first Art Unveiled night? If so, come meet the artist who created the beautiful paintings in our Sanctuary and hear her explain the process and meaning behind what she painted!

PRAYING FOR ALPHA

Our Alpha program begins next week! As a parish, we want to surround the volunteers and guests in prayer. Many may be learning more about Jesus for the first time, or wrestling with their own beliefs. They might be questioning whether they should even come.

Over the course of the 10-week program, we want to offer daily prayer for them. You can sign up below for a specific day of the week and commit to praying for Alpha that day. You could:

  • Include Alpha in your regular prayer intentions, simply asking God to be present to the guests and the team.
  • Pray a rosary, a Chaplet of Divine Mercy, or other traditional prayers for the intentions of Alpha.
  • Offer up small sacrifices during the day for those going through the program who are afraid of saying ‘Yes’ to Jesus.
  • Put on some praise and worship music and lift up the Alpha team and the guests.

“Alpha was instrumental in rebooting my faith.”  – Jason Prini

FIRST SESSION: February 1, 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Alpha provides a space to ask all your questions about life and faith in a friendly environment with others who, like you, want to explore. Each Alpha session includes supper, a short video, time to connect, and plenty of time to discuss. It doesn’t matter what you believe or don’t believe; come as you are. Check out the first night and see if it’s for you!

If you’ve taken Alpha before, who can you invite? Do you have friends, coworkers, family, or even neighbours who God is calling you to invite? Check out these 5 tips for inviting others to Alpha:

If you plan on bringing a friend to Alpha, we encourage you to register yourself also to help us plan numbers for the meal.

SENIORS MASS & LUNCHEON

All seniors are invited to join us monthly for Mass, fellowship, and good food. There is no cost to attend (though a free-will offering is appreciated), so invite a friend!

Our February speaker is Adele Pierce. Adele is a talented artist and interior designer who has brought sacred beauty to our church through the new paintings and sanctuary renovations.

Date/Time: Feb 21, 12pm

Registration closes at 12am on Feb 15 in order to give enough time to calculate meal numbers.

SMART AGING

Our parish Seniors Ministry is offering a special information session on the Smart Aging program, which is offered by the Council on Aging. Come enjoy muffins and coffee as you learn more about this 8-week course and what it can offer you.

Info Session Details: Jan 30, 10am-12pm in the Parish Hall
