Come Holy Spirit!

This year, we’re once again welcoming youth from Our Lady of Mount Carmel for a joint celebration of the sacrament of Confirmation. Presided by Bishop O’Brien, the confirmations will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd at 7pm, with a reception to follow.

All are invited! Come celebrate and pray for our youth.

Did you know the diocese has a seminarian from our parish?

This past Sunday, you may have noticed a new/familiar face by the altar. Junipero is a parishioner who has been studying with the Archdiocese as a seminarian! He shared a little about his journey towards the priesthood.

What most excites you about the call to the priesthood?

I'm intrigued by the priestly calling because of a priest's total surrender, looking up to Christ as the model. He sustains his priests by his grace as they spread the fragrance of love and serve as a bridge leading souls to back to him.

How is the Seminary preparing you for the priesthood?

With the Holy Spirit being our principal formator and through the instrumentality of our formators, we are trained in these core areas: spiritual, human, pastoral, and intellectual.

What's your favourite part about being a seminarian

I enjoy the malleability of being the clay in the hands of the potter (the Holy Spirit) as I'm prepared for the great mission of the salvation of souls.

You can help support the cost of Junipero’s formation by donating to the seminarian fund! Click here to learn more.

As we wrap up the year with our amazing NET missionaries, come to the Thanksgiving Mass & Reception to celebrate them!

  • Saturday, May 30th, 2026 at St. Mary's Parish (100 Young Street)
  • Mass at 7pm | Reception & Program in the Hall to follow
  • All are welcome to join us in celebrating the fruits of the mission year!
  • Tickets for the reception can be purchased on the NET Canada website: https://www.netcanada.ca/news/thanksgiving-mass-reception/

We’re so grateful for the incredible impact JP, Zach, Claire, and Bernadette have had on our parish, and especially on our youth. Check out a small example shared of their impact:

“There was a young man who said that during prayer he was crying because people at school have called him a loser and said he's nothing. But he felt the Lord tell him, "You're good as you are, I love you." The young man said that he felt the Lord's peace and could physically feel his presence.”

Feast of Corpus Christi

We will celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi (Sunday, June 7th) with a Eucharistic procession after the 11am Mass. It’s a beautiful witness to our love for Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist, and a way to honour him.

Please note that Mass will be slightly longer than usual, and incense will be used. Holy Communion will also be offered under both species (the Host and Precious Blood) at this Mass.
