The month of October is the national month of remembrance for miscarriage. October 17th is Annunciation’s third Mass of Remembrance, taking a moment to grieve the children of our parish lost through miscarriage or in infancy. We honour the names submitted to us through the diocesan online form. These littlest members of our community are also a part of our parish, and we grieve with their families.
If you’ve lost a child, we would be honoured to remember them at our Mass. You can submit their name by clicking here and filling out the form.
We’re still looking for a few more donations of baked goods, cheese and cracker plates, sliced meat trays, and canned sparkling water for the reception! If you’d like to contribute to this event, please fill out the form below. It’s a beautiful way to serve families in our parish who are grieving.
Roots Update
For the month of October, we’ll be pausing Roots for ages 6–10 at the 11 AM Mass as we take some time to grow our team.
Interested in serving on the Roots team? We’d love to have you! Stop by the Welcome Hub or chat with someone wearing a Roots shirt after Mass to learn more.
Junior Roots for ages 3–5 will continue as usual! All children ages 3–5 are invited to come forward and participate in Junior Roots.

Halloween is the one night a year where strangers come to our door asking for something! As a church, this is an incredible mission opportunity to build community relationships and show the love of Jesus.
On October 31, Annunciation sets up a tent on the front lawn and hands out candy, hot chocolate, and popcorn to kids and parents in our neighbourhood. We also make our washrooms available for families and the parking lot open for people to park.
We’ve run this outreach for the last few years with great success. Not only is it a great outreach to our immediate neighbourhood, but it also makes an easy and non-committal invitation to friends\family!
How can you be a part of this Outreach opportunity?
- All throughout October, you can drop off donations of candy, chocolate, chips, and glow sticks. Remember the houses that gave the best candy at Halloween? Let’s be that place!
- Help prep the donated candy in ziplock bags following the 9am mass on Oct 31.
- Join our set-up, handout, and clean-up teams!
