Do you know your pew neighbour?

New people are a sign of life in our parish family! But it's not enough to just have new people walk through the doors; we want them to feel truly known and welcomed.

Wearing a nametag is a simple way to make that happen. Even if you think everyone knows your name (or you know everyone else’s), chances are there’s someone who’s new (or who has forgotten your name and is too embarrassed to ask). So let’s make it easy for one another!

Grab a nametag before Mass this weekend, write your name, and meet your pew “neighbours”. We’ll have a chance to pray for the during Mass too. Jesus’ love is personal; let’s make ours personal too!

Prayer Ministry

Would you like prayer for a particular intention, for healing from illness, or for encouragement in your spiritual life? Prayer teams will be available after the Saturday 5pm Mass and Sunday 9am and 11am Masses this weekend. Come and be blessed by the prayers of your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Roots Update

For the month of October, we’ll be pausing Roots for ages 6–10 at the 11 AM Mass as we take some time to grow our team.

Interested in serving on the Roots team? We’d love to have you! Stop by the Welcome Hub or chat with someone wearing a Roots shirt after Mass to learn more.

Junior Roots for ages 3–5 will continue as usual! All children ages 3–5 are invited to come forward and participate in Junior Roots.

This October, we mark 15 years since the death of our founder, Fr. Bob Bedard, CC. Gather with us to honour his legacy and ask God for more! Celebrate Fr. Bob’s legacy with worship and adoration, testimony, and a main talk by Fr. Simon Lobo!

Join us for worship as we plead with God for more!

Date: October 6, 2026

Time: 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm followed by reception

Location: Annunciation of the Lord Parish (2414 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa, ON)

The worship is going to be powerful! Our amazing worship leader, Cam Turner (you may recognize him from the 11am Sunday Mass), has put together a Spotify playlist with the songs lined up for this Monday.

Throughout the month of October, Masses of Remembrance will be held across our archdiocese for children lost through miscarriage or in infancy. These Masses are an opportunity to entrust to the Lord our children who have gone home to his arms. Names of children, submitted to us through our online form, will be honoured at the beginning of each Mass.

You are welcome to submit your child's name regardless of whether or not you can join us for a Mass. Scroll down the page to submit using our online form, or visit the Woven diocesan page for resources and other Mass dates.

The Annunciation Parish Mass will be held on October 17, 2026, at 9am, followed by a light reception. All are welcome.

Join our volunteer team to help make this Mass beautiful, including set-up and clean-up crews for the reception. We are also looking for donations of baked goods, cheese and cracker plates, sliced meat trays, and canned sparkling water for the reception.

If you’d like to contribute to this event, please fill out the form below. It’s a beautiful way to serve families in our parish who are grieving.

Halloween is the one night a year where strangers come to our door asking for something! As a church, this is an incredible mission opportunity to build community relationships and show the love of Jesus.

On October 31, Annunciation sets up a tent on the front lawn and hands out candy, hot chocolate, and popcorn to kids and parents in our neighbourhood. We also make our washrooms available for families and the parking lot open for people to park.

We’ve run this outreach for three years with great success. Not only is it a great outreach to our immediate neighbourhood, but it also makes an easy and non-committal invitation to friends\family!

How can you be a part of this Outreach opportunity?

  • All throughout October, you can drop off donations of candy, chocolate, chips, and glow sticks. Remember the houses that gave the best candy at Halloween? Let’s be that place!
  • Help prep the donated candy in ziplock bags following the 9am mass on Oct 31.
  • Join our set-up, handout, and clean-up teams!
